The Middlesex County Chiefs of Police Association is a representative body of the 54 municipal police departments of Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Middlesex County is located west and northwest of the City of Boston. It is the most populous county in New England, with more than 1.5 million residents as of the 2012 Census.
In addition to the 54 cities and towns, Middlesex County law enforcement is represented by District Attorney Marian T. Ryan and County Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian. On Beacon Hill, the county is represented by 37 state representatives, and 16 state senators.
The Association’s membership also includes the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, MBTA Transit Police, the University of Massachusetts Lowell Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police.
Mission
The mission of the Middlesex County Chiefs of Police Association is to bring together municipal chiefs of police to form a cohesive group and a singular voice in discussions of law, policy, and other important issues. The Association also facilitates communication among its members while maintaining a productive working relationship with the Office of the Middlesex County District Attorney.
