Middlesex Chiefs Association Responds to Columns in the “Sentinel”

November 5, 2018 by John Guilfoil

“The Massachusetts Middlesex Chiefs of Police Association is aware of statements made by Arlington Police Lieutenant Rick Pedrini in articles published recently in the 2018 edition of the Sentinel, the official publication of the Massachusetts Police Association (MPA).

“Mr. Pedrini’s unconscionable personal statements do not reflect the opinions of the members of the Massachusetts Middlesex Chiefs of Police Association. Urging police officers to apply any standard in the use of force, other than what is reasonable and necessary, is reckless, irresponsible, and unprofessional. Treating everyone fairly, with dignity, and respect is one of the core foundational principles of the law enforcement profession. Any other stance is unacceptable.

“The mission of the Middlesex County Chiefs of Police Association is to bring together municipal chiefs of police to form a cohesive group and a singular voice in discussions of law, policy, and other important issues.”
